Board Bag Maintenance Tip
Vitamin Blue board bag maintenance for water board sports. We repair all types of board bags including surfboard bags, SUP bags, windsurf bag and prone paddleboard bags. Over 80% of the board bag repair work that we do follow from zipper sliders that have frozen as a result of salt water corrosion. In our video we suggest using a bag of hand soap. We do this because most people have a bar of hand soap handy. Additionally, you can also use WD-40 or silicone spray.
Board Bag Maintenance Schedule
We suggest performing this process two to three time a year, when your zipper sliders get a little stiff. If you plan to store your bag for awhile we highly recommend that you maintenance your zipper before you store your bag.
We suggest that you perform this upkeep on day bags, travel bags and coffin bags. Doing this will extend the life of all your board bags. As a result, less board bags will end up in landfills before their time. A good day bag should last 4 to 6 years. A good surf travel bag or coffin bag should last 10 to 15 years.
Please pass along this maintenance tip to all your water board sports friends!
